T-minus 2 Days

T-minus 2 Days

The camper is packed. The truck is packed. Final details include moving last minute cold items from the house fridge to the camper fridge. And if we forget something? My mantra:

"There's a Wal*Mart nearby."

We plan to do laundry about every 2 weeks. Who knew I have 15 pairs of underwear, but only 5 bras? Guess some items will be stinky by the time we get to the washing machine. Trooper will get bathed every 2 weeks, as well. Don't tell him, but I bought some waterless shampoo for those days he smells sweaty, in between the baths. It's a small world after all. In a 29 ft. camper. After 2 weeks.

Ready to roll!

I hope to learn to make some sheet pan dinners on the trip, because at some point my prepared vacuum sealed meals will run out. Seasoned fresh veggies and meat roasted in the camper oven might just overpower the sweaty dog smell. Anyway, I've never tried this cooking method, but Dave's brother, John, loves to make this type of meal. We'll see how it goes.

There are 2 mini Scottish Highland Cows in a nearby field. We see them almost every day as we take our walks with Trooper. It is so fun to watch them run and play, especially when it's meal time. So when Dave found this Bible verse, he felt it applied to us as we get more and more excited for the trip.

"But for you who revere my name,
the sun of righteousness will rise
with healing in its rays.
And you will go out and frolic like
well-fed calves."
Malachi 4:2

Here's to being well-fed calves!
